Flying With Tiny Wings

I love bumblebees and the fact that they can do what nobody thought they would: Fly with the sun shining above them.

I found a wonderful tutorial on Rebeccas blog for a knitted bumblebee. It was very easy to follow and I started out making three of them. I tried different yarn types to see how it went on. That´s why they each has their own personality.

I got so inspired that I wrote a poem to go with them. It´s in norwegian but I can say it´s all about proving negative thoughts wrong.

I´m giving the guy on the left to a very special friend along with the poem. Thank you for changing my life.

The two others are also about to find new homes.

The bumblebee can fly - and so can we. I´ve decided to never listen to all things making me think I can´t fly.

So don´t ever let anyone tell you that you can´t fly.

I think the quote from Mary Kay Ash says it all:

Aerodynamically, the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know it so it goes on flying anyway

Color Stich By Stitch

I can finally show you how my knitted jacket is going to be. At least some of it.

It´s so much fun knitting. I couldn´t do it without the inspiration I got from the book Color by Kristin. I saw color in a totally different way - and I would never have thought that the colors I chose would be so perfect for me to knit with.

I knit it in one round piece and cut it open after I´m finished. I´m planing on making buttons in polymer clay and jewelry to go with it.

I love this project - it brings out my joy in creating.

You can find the pattern here. It´s translated into english among other languages.

I use Rauma finull and Pt2 for it. Those are norwegian yarn, but I think you can get it in other countries as well.

Anyway - I enjoy to knit this jacket stitch by stitch.

Counting The Dots In Life

My new handknittet scarf in alpaca wool. It´s about 170 cm long.

Very nice to wear - and I love the colors of it. It reminds me of all the little colorful things in everyday life that we often seem to pass without notice.

I´ve been collecting all these small things in my heart for years. And there are always room for more. Like the scarf - it warms me up.

It´s all about noticing the good things: A good cup of coffee, a hug from a friend, a smile or just some sunbeams on a cold day.

As long as something makes you smile, or give you this good feeling inside, it is never too small. In fact small things can really make a different.

I wish you a lot of noticing and a happy new year. May all the little things in your life make your days brighter and warmer.
